Veteran Corps Participates in 2014 Ride2Recovery
Ride 2 Recovery was created to benefit mental and physical rehabilitation programs in order to help our countries healing heroes overcome any obstacle they face while raising money to support cycling programs across the U.S. at military and VA locations. Recovering veterans work their way up from stationary bikes to rides around the base to challenges like R2R, with experienced riders coaching newcomers. For the first time, Veteran Corps participated in this challenging 275 mile ride from Washington D.C. to Virginia Beach, VA. Our own Mike Kiess and Mike Staunton trekked through historic landmarks like George Washington’s home and the battlefields of Manassas, along with Camber teammate, Tim Goodwin. VCA had the honor of donating $1000 on behalf of Mikel Alford, Camber employee and Project HERO coordinator, who also works alongside our teammates Jessica and Luis in Oceanside, CA. Mikel received his own Veteran Corps jersey to show our support to a great organization.
