Veteran Corps Honors Wounded Warriors in 2012 Face of America Bike Ride
The Edgewood and Fairfax teams were out in full force for the 2012 Face of America Bike Ride on April 28-29, a two-day ride to honor our nation's military – disabled, veterans, and active duty, as well as celebrating the American Spirit. Riders departed from the Pentagon near Washington, D.C. in the cool early morning air on Saturday, arriving at the historic battle fields of Gettysburg the following afternoon, 110 miles away. Veteran Corps was involved on several fronts, stepping up to be a corporate sponsor, teaming with partners Camber and Federal Resources to join Team Faithpoint, and providing custom shorts and jerseys for the biking team with the help of graphic design support from Federal Resources. It was a true team effort all-around, with participation and support efforts led by Mike Staunton with the help of Michael Clark, Tobias Herald, Gina Brown, and their families. Riders from Veteran Corps included John Wheeler, Jennifer Wheeler, Mike Staunton, and Scott Hamilton.
